Special Experience

I encountered an experience when I was teaching at Roosevelt elementary school in Mrs. Pintarelli's 4th grade class that I will remember forever. This special occasion made me realize that teaching kids was an actual passion of mine. I was asked by Mrs. Pintarelli to take a girl named Yasmine (who I had been working with a lot) and take her to the back table to work on some math problems that she had been having trouble with. Yasmine had a lot of difficulties in school and struggle to understand many concepts in all subjects especially math. I sat down with her and worked for at least 20 minutes on one concept, I taught her several different ways in which she could figure out the math problems. Finally after more then 30 minutes she said "Oh my gosh I get it, I never get anything and you taught me it!" I never felt better because that sentence that came out of her mouth was because of my patience and will to keep at it and make sure she didn't get left behind.
